Square feet are not feet
This converter is for length. If you are converting area, such as floor space, the factor is different because both sides of the square are converted:

That number is 0.3048 × 0.3048. A 2,000 square foot home is about 185.8 square meters, not 609.6. Using the length factor on an area is one of the most common errors in property comparisons, and it overstates the size more than threefold.
